Sylvania -Voncile Jenkins Mobley, age 91, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. She was born in Hiltonia, GA to the late Eustace & Maudine Daughtry Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: William R. Mobley; Brothers: Terrell B. Jenkins and Daniel Ray Jenkins.

She was a faithful member of the Sylvania First United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and also served as President of the Women's Guild. She was a member of the Chance Hill Circle and was on the altar committee. She was a member of the Screven County Garden Club for 65 years and was twice President of the club in 1971-73 and 1985-87. She also served as flower show chairman and was chairman of the February Committee. She was a source of information for many members on flower arranging and garden plants. When she met new people, one of her first questions was "Would you be interested in joining the Garden Club?" She was also named the 2005 Oleander District Outstanding Garden Club Member. She was interested in many things and belonged to a rummy club and a "sewing club" at which none of the members sewed, but just enjoyed each other's company and the refreshments. She loved to talk to anyone she met and never met a stranger. She liked to travel, visiting her son, going to flower shows, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens "Tours for Connoisseurs" and various trips to Europe.

She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Gayle Mobley of Sylvania, a son, William Robert Mobley, Jr. of Atlantic Beach, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-laws, Jean M. Newton and Vicki L. Mobley.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with Visitation an hour before at 10:00 AM at the chapel of Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Cravey officiating. Burial following at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Carrol Jenkins, Danny Jenkins, Roger Jenkins, Pat Jenkins, Allen Newton and Lee Mobley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Screven County Garden Club Members.

Memorials may be sent to Sylvania First United Methodist Church Altar Fund, P O Box 256, Sylvania, GA 30467.
